I wish Roald Dahl was alive to read this. I am sure he would have said " what was i thinking ". It is my request to the authors of this site to find out flaws in his other characters like BFG, MATILDA ETC.

Its funny to read, as long as its not serious. If its serious - I'm glad I live in a different country than the authors, they are clearly head-cases! Its a f-i-c-t-i-o-n-a-l book/movie for chrissakes!

Damn. I continued searching about the Hank Williams song, No No Joe and learned that it's a comment on Joseph Stalin and not Joseph McCarthy.
So, does this change the meaning of GJ? This is a question that is very deep, very deep indeed.

I just remembered:
I got here because I was trying to find the lyrics of an old Hank Williams song called, No No Joe calling attention to Sen. and anti-communist hypocrite and scumbag Joe McCarthy. I googled the name of the song and not far down on the list this site came up.
So now I am wondering if this aspect of the story is not a sublte rejoinder to that other Joe.
Is it possible that the film/book authors are communist infiltrators trying to undermine the patriotic contributions of a great American?!
(this could be sarcastic, I'll have to think about it some more and get back to you)

I enjoyed myself here. (Not entirely sure how I got here though.)
Even before I found this site I had issues with G.J. in the movie - but now I more clearly see why.
Your evidence strongly suggests that G.J. is far more vile in the movie than in the book - suggesting that the film's producer/writer/director/actor had something to say about G.J. and a reason to vilify him in that production. These changes were apparently not incidental or unintentional.
Is there a conspiracy to defame the original, true Grandpa Joe of the book?

Oh, I forgot to add that the site is just plain ridiculous, but slightly funny.
TIS (May 13, 2005 10:13:15 pm)
It just goes to show what a bunch of people with too much time to waste can do. If it wasn't as Thuggins put it "you guys are complaining about a God-forsaken FICTIONAL CHARACTER," you might almost have a good site. However, he is a fictional character, the book is fake, they never have, are not, and are never going to exist. You guys (oh sorry I don't want to affend the male hating authors and vistors of this site, Lord help us all) "PEOPLE," I use that term loosely, need to get a REAL JOB. Near where I live there are several mill and factory positions opening up, I'll get you an application. By the way they are janatorial postisions. Just let me know. But don't hold your breath. BYE NOW!
